Frequently asked questions
Does FateKit upload my archive or birth details?
Features identified as on-device keep their calculations and archives on your device. Information leaves the device only when you choose an action that sends it, such as sharing, sync, support, or another clearly identified online feature. FateKit explains the destination and purpose before sending where required.
Does Generate AI Prompt connect to ChatGPT or another AI?
The current Generate AI Prompt tool prepares text on your device and does not send it to an AI service by itself. You choose whether to copy or share the prompt. If another AI or online feature is available, it will identify what is sent and which provider receives it.
How do I export or delete an archive?
Use Settings → Local Data to export a versioned FateKit-Archives.json file. Version 1.0 does not yet import that file automatically. Delete individual archives in the app; uninstalling FateKit removes its local app container.
Why might another sky tool show different data?
First compare the selected date, local time, observation place, time zone, and historical daylight-saving rules. Eastern references can also differ when tools use different calendrical or traditional-coordinate definitions.
How does FateKit use my current location?
Only when you choose Use Current Location, FateKit requests When In Use location access for a one-time location result. The current feature uses the result on your device to select a nearby city and calculate sky data. This location is not sent to the developer. You can also use the bundled offline city database or enter a place and coordinates manually without granting location access.
